Lithuanian operator LMT, which is owned by TeliaSonera, has deployed the technology in Jurmala: LTE coverage will gradually expand in parallel with development of the existing 3G network. TeliaSonera currently operates LTE services in seven countries: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. TeliaSonera's subsidiary LMT has launched the first commercial 4G / LTE service in Latvia. This means that TeliaSonera has launched 4G in seven countries; Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania pioneering the Nordic and Baltic markets with superfast mobile services. “We have now launched 4G in all our Nordic and Baltic markets which makes us able to offer the fastest mobile services available on the market to the whole region, says Claes Nycander, Head of Mobility Technology Solutions at TeliaSonera. In Latvia, the first base stations equipped with 4G are located in Jurmala and the coverage will be gradually extended along with the development of 3G network.
